Message from Father John...
Welcome to St. Patrick’s Parish in Canby, Oregon.
Some of you may already know about us. Others of you have made an effort or by accident (call it grace) found us on the web site. Our hope here in our parish is to continue to grow in our faith and to live as faithful people in the world. If you are already Catholic, you belong here.

If you have been away from the Church for a while because of some hurt of misunderstanding in the past, we invite you to talk to us. Allow us to extend whatever apologies are appropriate or talk through whatever source of confusion might be keeping you from participating in Catholic parish life. A simple call to our office, 503-266-9411, will open the door to that conversation.
And if you are not Catholic, we invite you to allow us to tell you more about our Church. Personal experience is truly the only way to know about the Catholic faith.
If you have any interest in being part of a community of Catholic Christians, give us the chance to tell you about ourselves and answer any questions you may have.
A call to our parish office will open the door to that information for you.
We are delighted you found us and hope you experience faith in a God of life, hope and joy. As you journey through life, please pray for us as we will for you that we can build a world where a Summer God takes away the chill and pain of an often times broken world.
It is in doing this that we make the message of Christ a reality for God’s people.
May He Bless you,
Fr. John Waldron
WINTER WEATHER CHURCH SERVICE (2007-2008)
Now that we are entering into cold winter weather, we may find days that will require our parish activities to be canceled or delayed. St. Patrick’s weather policy will follow the Canby School District. If the Canby Schools are canceled, our parish office and activities will be canceled. In the event of a delayed school opening our parish office will open late and evening activities will occur as scheduled.
PENANCE SERVICE
Today marks the beginning of the Season of Advent, the first of two penitential seasons of our Church Year. As families we celebrate many traditions and customs which give meaning to and mark events in our lives. As we make our preparations for the Season of Christmas it is appropriate to prepare our inner-selves for the new indwelling of Christ in our lives. When we make the Sacrament of Reconciliation a part of our family experience and preparations we lay a life time foundation as people who believe in the power of forgiveness and reconciliation, not only as individuals but as families, as communities, and as nations. Our Advent Penance Service will be held on Wednesday, December 20th 2007 at 7pm. We invite you, and your family, to celebrate the Season of Advent more fully, through the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the Advent Penance Service.
